EUROGOMMA screen panels permits Goldfields Tarkwa Plant to save 1,2$ Millions in 7 months
EUROGOMMA was initially involved as supplier of regular screen panels as per existing specifications for the SAG Mill scalping screen of the Goldfields Tarkwa plant.
The products proved to be good and well working but a certain moment the client advised that all screen panels, with no distinction between Manufacturers, rapidly collapsed.
Investigations of our Sale team permitted to discover that the size of the balls in SAG Mill was increased from 80mm to 100mm
This fact was recognised by our Engineers like the reason of the problem
Our technical team worked at a proposal to permit the deck to resist the increased load and impact but anyway keeping high screening production.
The solution was found into reinforcing the feed area where the smash of ore and balls was heavily affecting the wear life of the screen panels.
The increased life of the deck together with the following plant improvements:
1.Upgrade of the feed hopper to the screen deck
2.Relocation of the head chute sensor for better blockage detection
Has permitted the plant to reduce SAG Mill downtime for a financial save of 1,2 Millions US Dollars in 7 months
